Les Combettes is one of the most northerly of Puligny-Montrachet's vineyards, located beside the commune boundary with Meursault. Because it is on the lower slopes of the Cote d'Or, the vineyard has a higher clay in its soils and its wines are correspondingly richer and lower in acidity. This makes them less like other Puligny-Montrachet wines and more like those of the Meursault.

Do the French make the best Chardonnay? Well all I can say is this is a great wine it’s fresh plenty of acidity no fruit dominates but there is a citric backbone with so much more
