Deep ruby color with purple highlights and a slight fuchsia rim. Very floral (purple flowers) on the nose with a bit of toast and spice. Flavors of black cherry/berry/plum fruit with additional notes of chocolate, sweet baking spices and vanilla. Medium-plus oaky finish. Extremely soft tannins. Bright acidity (high elevation fruit?), medium bodied and noticeable alcohol. Slightly out of balance but more than reasonable. Improved with aeration. Appreciate the gift, Ron B!
