Jan 21st, 2022That’s Chili wine! It has a characteristic herb flavor. Enough concentration. Smooth. Cherry. Spicy. Good balanced among multiple grapes. 2012@1058, Xiaduo -, 201120-201121

Nov 20th, 2020Nose is slightly green (pepper maybe). It’s delicate though, with black pepper, dry dirt, red plum skin, and red current. There’s still a somewhat grippy tannic structure drying out the palate and acidity that creeps in around the outside of the mouth. The taste profile isn’t far off from the nose. Good stuff. This can use 2-5 more years.

Jul 8th, 2019Yummy... with grilled meats...fruity but not sweet. Love this. Bounces off the plate and sings with the food. Also some vegetable soup. Yum

Feb 6th, 2014This one is a typical "me too" buy. Not much in South American wines so far, I noticed that Paul Hobbs was adding this little Chilean winery in his portfolio: “We focus on smaller, premium wineries, so this fits our model very well,” said Hobbs, who’s been consulting to wineries in Chile and Argentina since the early 1990s. “Viña Perez-Cruz is an all-estate property, which isn’t very common in Chile, and they have a state-of-the-art winery.” Well - it was worth a try - but not a big fan due to undistinctive taste despite nice lemon and vanilla notes.
