How #atlasofwine likes to approach Saturdays. The 2009 vintage of this wine is stunning right now! This is a modern, international blend from Navarra in Spain. Menthol, spice, and currant cake. (Is currant cake a thing??)

Slate, tobacco, red fruit, some mild baking spice. Darn good bottle for the price.

Complex layers that shift beautifully over time. Well balanced. Love it... Under $18 from Last Bottle!

This has shown well, but differently so, days 1, 2, and 3. Definitely Bordeaux-like in structure, currant-like fruit, tannin, length. Some red apple skin, loam, leaves, organic stuff next to a flowing wood creek, dark chocolate, even a little pencil shavings and meat. For sure one of the best wines i've tasted out of Navarra.

Bordeaux blend Spanish wine. Quite enjoy it. Very easy to drink.

Delicious blend of the local varietal of Spain Tempranillo with more standard conifers varietals Cab, Merlot & Syrah that shows the Navarre terroir so beautifully. Heavy flavors that quickly soften when eaten with strong cheeses, hearty roasts or tomato based soups...

2009. Blackberry and earth, but chalky tannins slam it down early. Needs years yet.
