Viña Falernia
Falernia Reserva Valle de Elqui Syrah
Probably the best Syrah in the world at this price point! Truly deserving of the Decanter world wine award! Smoked Meat & spice, violets, black pepper and beautiful blue and black berry fruit with a light handed touch in the winery. Not quite as good as the '10, but still smoking!

Aug 22nd, 2017Very herbal and lots of unripe fruit that softened over time. Different and interesting.

May 30th, 2017Deep ruby red colour. Aromas of spicy red fruit, kalamata olives, black peppers, baking spices and herbs. Full bodied wine with richly textured fruit in the mouth along with mineral notes, smooth but grippy tannins and balanced acidity with a touch of smoke. Soft and pleasant dry finish. An interesting and unique syrah from Chile's northern desert-like Elqui Valley region. Highly recommend 1-2 hours decanting.
