Part owner & winemaker at Viña Cobos is Paul Hobbs, one of the most celebrated winemakers in the world. Paul previously crafted such notables as Opus One, DuMOL & Peter Michael & Lewis. Aged for 17 months on French & American oak, deep red with aromas of black fruits and spice. On the palate this powerhouse shows blackberry and dark cherry flavors with coffee and cacao notes, well structured. Tannins are firm yet smooth, lingering with mineral tones on the ending.

What a great wine for a great price ($39). Paul Hobbs makes amazing wine! When I found that they had a brand in Argentina- I was so excited to try it!

Terrible photo for what was a really nice wine. Would have guessed Napa as it really didn’t exhibit the earthiness so typical of Argentinian Cabs. Pleasant on PNP though annoying served at room temp despite 400% markup here in NYC.

a bit bland...but based on other ratings, maybe in a different setting I'd perceive the blandness as subtlety
