This gorgeous Chianti from Villa S. Anna is full of Sangiovese character. Dark cherry, tobacco, cedar and spice abound in a perfumed, classically built Chianti from the Colli Senesi appellation. Drink it over the next handful of years. $20.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2019)

First Sangiovese for me in a while and first in the line up tonight. Earth and spicy flavors, definitely Italian in it's more rustic aromas. Nice acidity.

Nose reminiscent of BDX with a couple of years on it, though a bit brighter. Lightness and acidity with firm tannin on the palate. One might complain of a slight lack of concentration, but I ain't picking nits. It's just the thing with a bowl of pasta.
