I’m becoming a bigger and bigger fan of quality mid-priced reds with one or two decades of bottle age. #sierrafoothills #zinfandel 25 years in, not surprised to be greeted by nutty sherry, caramel, toffee notes on nose. No primary bramble fruit aromas left. Palate was delightful with unexpectedly sturdy acidity, ghostly traces of tannins. No fade on second day after uncorking proving this wine could go even more distance. Paired well with plant-based pepperoni pizza.
