Bought it at Grocery Outlet fir $7 - needed in a pinch and it did the trick. Too fruity for my preferred barbera but enough acid and light enough for my veggie marinara pasta sauce. Cheers!

Boring Italian label. Lots of black. Smells like baked meats pastry and stout. And a fancy red licorice or maybe Cherry Garcia ice cream. Flavors are also meaty, with a serious anise/fennel meets cranberry sauce or craisins and orange scone vibe. This is excellent Barbera passito. Plenty of dried fruit and some dry rich tannins. Would work with cheese and dry meats well.
