Dark fig red of medium to full density and appreciable brilliance. Clear animal aromas come first, cow, pasture, radish, red bell pepper and dark cherry liquour. Mushroomy flavor comes upon entrance, then decisive dark fruit flavors; blackberry and strawberry compote flavors that take you to a dark currant and black pepper acidity that stays until the long finish. This wine is very lively, and a pleasant surprise for a little under $15. Got me excited. 87 pts.

Sep 28th, 2014Interesting that this Rosso comes from a DOC, considering that is 60% Merlot, and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark ruby color and low brilliancy. Overwhelming aromas of cherry liquour and black currant, with some alcohol showing also. Definite alcohol defect in this wine, with flavors of sour cherry, wild berries, black currant, black berry, and an awful disjointed acidity and finish overpowered by alcohol. 77 pts
