Victoria Park
Cellar Release Eden Valley Shiraz Viognier
This is the first time I’ve tried a wine like this. @Byron C Mayes suggested it. He said it had aromatics. He was right. I’m t was flowery and full on the nose. The finish was a little leather and spice. Went well with pork and on its own. Definitely needs to be a regular purchase

1 person found it helpfulDec 29th, 2018Just walked into my store this week. A new bottling from Yalumba winery in Eden Valley. Co-fermented Shiraz/Viognier - full of fresh fruits and pepper on the nose. A full, lush pallet, with juicy acidity and a fresh burgundy color - dark raspberry, red plum, peppercorn mix, mint, and a peppery lingering finish. Definitely not bad for $20.. in need of a little time in the bottle to soften up edges..BUT, it is a screw cap, so no chance for oxidation unfortunately.
What I do like is Yalumba's Sustainable farming techniques. They care about making excellent wine, as well as the importance of excellent vineyard care. More importantly that they are inseparable. They also run an impressive environmental management program stating for every hectare of vineyard they own, they have at least one hectare of natural vegetation, including thousands of trees they have planted since the 1990's.
I believe this shows in their clean quality of wine. It's important - the biodiversity - in viticulture to give back to the earth that we take from, ensuring that it is here and prosperous long after we are gone.

First time, loved it.
Layers of juiciness
Full body mouthfeel but easy drinking.

Color of clear ruby with shades of purple. Nose of fresh berries like cranberry and spice, very much like Pinot Noir. Indeed, some vanilla, cherry, and some wet mushroom. Taste of ample acidity, mellow, good berry note, milky chocolate, refined sweetness and a touch of zest. Aftertaste is medium with some more refreshing zest note. Pretty decent.
