#blastfromthepast I remember working with the winemaker years ago just befor Halliday blew up the Heytsbury Red as WOTY. True to form, big and opulent. Rombauer ain't got nothing on this guy

This "Filius" release from Vasese Felix is very nice. Peachy. Apply. A bit of oak. Controlled fruit with structure. Very well done. A lot of folks will like this.

2013. Minerally green apples. Very good, as others have said. Benchmark Chardonnay for our house. Available@in the uk from Costco at about £9 a bottle if memory serves correctly.

Inviting straw colour with a lightly toasty bouquet. To taste it is green apples with a slight butteriness and a certain minerality. As a result, slightly too acidic for my palate as a standalone drink (tangy as opposed to refreshing) but works well with food which allows the butter and toast flavours to be a little more prominent.
