2018 vintage. Aragatsotn region. Blend of Areni (40%), Kakhet (30%) and Haghtanak (30%). Altitude 1050 meters. Aged 6 months in French and Armenian oak. Bright deep ruby red. Very shy nose with subdued hints of redcurrants and fresh herbs. Takes a lot of time to open up, so decanting (or patience) recommended. More expressive in the mouth, with ripe sour red cherries, rather high acidity, and soft but present tannin. Good spicy length. Not the most complex wine, but definitely has some personality. My first experience with this wine, but I suspect it would benefit from a bit of bottle age.

May 12th, 2020Took about an hour for the oak to wear off, but the nose is fairly mellow and herbaceous. Spiced cherry candy aromas evolve to underripe red fruits well into the finish. Nice acidity!
