For Xmas 🎄#thetcwineclub Box was made up of 3 bottles of bubbles. Tis the season right! Cava, the Spanish sparkling wine, is a favourite Bubbles style of mine after spending 6 weeks in the Penedes region in Spain 🇪🇸 where it’s made back in 2012. I love the crisp refreshing-ness of cava which makes it such a good friendly sparkler. From seafood to charcuterie to Christmas dinner, it’ll be a fab match!
This Vallformosa MVSA non-vintage Cava has a unique point of difference where the typical Spanish grapes used for cava production (Macabeu, Parellada, and Xarello-lo) are blended with Chardonnay to add richness and power.
On the eye it’s a brilliant white gold colour with notes of freshly cut apples, straw and lemonade on the nose. In the mouth it’s über refreshing with a smooth mousse and plentiful apple-ly-ness with a squeeze of lime.
