Nero d'Avola is "the most important red wine grape in Sicily" and is one of Italy's most important indigenous varieties. It is named after Avola in the far south of Sicily and its wines are compared to New World Shirazes, with sweet tannins and plum or peppery flavours. This wine is true to its nature and good for a pasta / pizza night.

Mar 27th, 2017This had a very funky noise to it (dirt, minerality). It tasted ok, but not much too it. Not overly citrus just blah. Don't buy or order a glass.

Jun 6th, 2016Good company. Good plonk. Impromptu Mialino. Christmas pudding nose - dried fruits, cocoa, suet, but not nearly as rich as it sounds. Beautiful drinker.
