Vintage 2023 | For years I had no idea that Chinon can be white… this cuvée from Chenin Blanc is very small, only 500 bottles made each year. Sylvain Colla’s Clos de la Grille covers 6 hectares in total. The smell is fresh with tones of citrus, a bit saline. The wine hit me in the face at my first sip: só much bitters. But the wine became rounded with food, I paired it with chicory with ham and a cheesesauce from the oven. Lovely combination. Try the white Chinons if you have the opportunity!
