Large difference between nose and palate. Almost a little reserved in the glass, it opens up massively on the first sip. Fruity, spicy, lingering for a while after each sip. Definitely not the average barbera, almost zin like.

There might be an April fools present in your future. We tasted this bottle over the past few days and I'm astounded at how the wine has turned out. As many know 2011 was a difficult, an absolute bitch, of a year for anything that matured late.... This wine is testimony to the greatness of Cooper Ranch.

2011 Vintage. Dark ruby color with appealing cherry, red currant, damp earth, vanilla and a bit of dried herb aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, intense with very lively acidity and a smooth texture with ample cherry, red currant, cola and baking spice flavors. Has in interesting hint of salinity. Delicious! 14.3% alcohol
