Stevens Vineyard has plantings dating back to 1911. It's planted on a combination of light sand and red clay soils and its grapes are used as part of Tyrrell's single vineyard Semillon series.
Thank you Tyrrell's for this sample bottle. 2017 was a near perfect vintage in the Hunter Valley.
Crisp clean pale yellow in the glass. Notes of minerality, apple pie and florals on the nose. In the mouth it's perfectly balanced between fruitiness and acidity. Juicy pears and grapefruit stand out for me. I really enjoyed it, elegant and thirst quenching.
