Dierberg Vineyard Block Five Pinot Noir

A bit too much tomato for me. Cranberry and cherry.

Comes from Block 5 in the Dierberg Vineyard which is separated from rest of Vineyard by a small creek, where the soil has more clay and red in color. Aromas of fresh berry fruit and wonderful floral spice. On the palate flavors of cherry cranberry and cola with smoky notes, well balanced. Fine tannins on lingering finish ending with a burst of fruit. Very nice. Give it some hottie age. Tasting Sample.

Block Five is showing its stuff. Needs a few years aging to really blossom though.

Charged aromas of strawberry preserves and vanilla cola that quickly stand aside to reveal nuanced flavors of lavender Earl Gray tea, menthol, sage, green tobacco, baking spices, and brown sugar. Cranberry sauce on the palatte. Stellar finish. Definitely one of the more complex Central Coast Pinot Noirs I've had.
