Dense purple, medium to highly extracted pigment. Black currant, black pepper, barrel wood notes in nose. Cherry, raspberry flavors with length. Moderate astringency on finish. Fruity, good acid. Great value on this winery’s basic “Burgundian varietal” red. Paired exceedingly well with Caribbean dry rub pork chops (cinnamon, cocoa, clove).

Loads of dark fruit and savory herbs and spices, citrus oil over some gamy meats, and a pleasing finish. This is pleasurable and pushes well beyond its price point.

Delicious. It's about the savory here. Blackberry and bramble, olive, smoke, meat, a little funkiness in a good way.

4 sub Ava's, great fruit sources, under $20 retail, way over delivers, a baby, flowers, fruit, texture, dense, The Rocks funk and olives finish, great quality for the price, needs a serious decant, have 3 more, will probably do every 2 years

What a value. Seriously One of the best under 25 bucks.

Delightful as ever. 2017 shows reserved blackberry & boysenberry up front on both nose and palate. Some pepper & smoke circulate to add some savory character. Tannins are brisk and add some complexity to the texture. Consistent every vintage

Strong acidity initially, followed by a smooth finish. Too acidic for my palate.

Pretty good! Not as much a fan of Syrahs but this was good. Not sure if I would buy this again only because I'm neutral on Syrahs

Caramel nose. Smooth, pepper, spice. Easy. Light start, slightly acidic middle, smooth finish.
