@Delectable Wine : This is the Turnstile Cellars Scopus Vineyard Chardonnay. I didn’t see it in the database.

New project from a former Fort Worth guy, Jidhin Ramankutty. Got the wine bug and decided to chase the dream, so he packed up his stuff and moved to Cali. Spent some time at Rivers Marie and this is his first finished wine under his personal label, Turnstile Cellars. Release will be late October (turnstilecellars.com to sign up).

Scopus vineyard on Sonoma Mountain. Yellow gold in the glass with aromatics of pink cotton candy, lemon pastry, ripe yellow fruits (not quite tropical, but close) and honey-roasted cashews. On the palate, this shows beautiful texture thanks to the lees stirring (if you enjoy the bigger style of Cali Chardonnays) which has some resemblance to Hudson-fruit Chardonnays (big but not flabby, ripe but not overly sweet). Lemon cream and vanilla highlight the finish. Not a coastal profile, but has good acidity. If giving comparisons, this reminds me of Odette’s Chardonnay (which tracks with the Hudson comment).

Followed over two days and this showed consistent. Nice job on the inaugural wine.
