Annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine.
(Notes this year were avoided, but scores are honest.)

Decadent. Poached black currants. Sweet purple berries. Notes of quince. Fun, and a little over the top for drinking with food.

Huge blueberries, cinnamon and chocolate. Just what you want Turley to be.

BBQ night & Zin!

1 of 5 Turley zins tonight. This was one of the best in terms of evolution...it’s come together nicely and doesn’t seem out of balance. Really mellow red and black fruits, strong acidity, and a savory/herbal finish.

citrus, sweet smoke, mint, ripe cherry aromas. ripe. light in weight but not in flavor. As usual now under Tegan’s hand, not showing the alcohol.

This wine is ridiculous. Great mouthfeel, spicey, rich stewed plum, lasting on the palate for hours.

Another great Weekly Wine Committee in the books, this time hosted by Dan. Format stayed the same (1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine) and everything is guessed blind.

Stumped again as I guessed Cali Pinot. Much more fruit focused than the first Turley. Darker. Black cherry, cola, jerky, truffle. Almost red of the day!

I'm still in awe at this wine and the history teamed with the location.
140 years old and producing fruit to this calibre is a credit to the organic farming.
