Nov 25th, 2019Definitely popped this way too young but there was no disappointment on our end. A really nice vintage for this wine and the tannins let us know that we were premature by about 8 years. Still supple and true to form, the red fruits and vanilla are backed by dried spice box and a finish that goes on and on.

Dusi 2016 was great, all the components were there.
Sadie upton 2016 had some tightness and even cinnamon. The 2015 was a big red fruited wine with tannin and acidity. Big mid palate.
The whitney tennessee was tad more elegant and less zin jam. Dogtown 15 was the jammiest of the wines I had today. Still good but more in your face. Rinaldi was rustic and solid. 2015 old vines is the value of the day. Tasting very nice right now, maybe the best of them all with it's viscosity and sweet fruit.

Definitely the big, grippy uncle of the family. Needs a ribeye alongside it. @Christina Turley it was great to finally meet you IRL!

Loads of blackberry jam, spices (though I didn't get pepper which I usually find on Turley zins), this wine is rich and drinking very well.
