100% Merlot from Maremma, coastal Tuscany. Dark crimson in colour. Smells like right bank Bordeaux. I usually avoid the description “smooth “ but that is what this is. Red and black fruited - medium bodied and very long in the flavour profile. Next night still very Bordeaux. See my previous note from February 2024.

Jul 27th, 2026100% Merlot from Maremma, Tuscany. Dark Ruby, impenetrable in colour. Ripe black fruit , plummy notes, Barb thought a jammy note. Aromas also of pipe tobacco. The palate is velvety with a hedonistic feel about it. Oak has integrated. I need to drink the remaining 2 bottles in the next couple of years. One of the 1001 wines. Robert Parker gave the 2000 vintage the perfect 100 points.

No words suffice... Rita Tua has prepared the lunch for us while we taste the new releases from Tua Rita. In addition, we tasted some library selections like this '03 Redigaffi. Fantastico!

Stewy/overripe dark plum, lacking finesse/structure/acidity, but it's to be expected of an overripe style of Merlot.
