Amaranta Syrah
Dark and concentrated. Bigger wine with reductive style that needs decanting before enjoying dusty fruit with spice and olive flavors. Probably best with some food. Inexpensive for an interesting complex wine

Jan 21st, 2014The nose features charred fruit and spice that is a bit overshadowed by the alcohol. On the palate caramel, fig, cola, black tea, and cinnamon rule. Moderate plus tannins and high acid. A tad hot for my taste.

May 4th, 2020Inky dark red in color. Nose is cherry and oak. Stewed fruit, oak and white pepper on the palate with a raisin and acid finish. This is a heavy, viscous wine (15.7% alcohol). Big, bold, and not for the faint of heart. I need sharp cheese and figs or dates wrapped in bacon to tame this beast.
