This certainly has become an instant hit as a top quality Pinot Noir from the Coal River Tasmania but owned by Shaw + Smith from the Adelaide Hills. Interesting to try 2 quality Pinots from the same vintage (2015) on successive nights. The Tolpuddle won over Yarra Yering in this bout, marginally. James Suckling’s comments, “They have totally nailed it” and 97 points.

A wonderfully harmonious palate showing the same descriptors from the nose with medium plus intensity. A really good new world Pinot Noir - up there with the best. Will cruise through to 2030 in the cellar.

Fantastic tension between the crystalline fruit and the stemmy, herbal texture. There's something evocative of great Burgundy here, but rarely have I come across old world wine that so well matches pure fruit with the intensity of whole cluster qualities. I don't know that this wine could have been made anywhere else than Tasmania.

The latest 2015 is no exception with whole bunch vegetal aromas. Spicy cherry and savoury plum flavours with medium + intensity. Good cellaring potential of 5 to 10 years.
