I had a hard time rating this. As a wine, absolutely delicious! As a Cab Franc, decidedly New World and not as common. Deep and rich with blackberry, mocha, mint, cola, oregano, and almost no spice or pepperiness. Inky violet color with plum edges and fiery red when the light hits it. Very fruit forward and full bodied. It's more reminiscent of a Malbec or Cabernet Sauvignon. I can't find the typical characteristics of this varietal, but I'm more familiar with the Old World characteristics. Surprisingly, I miss the spicy pepper. Good thing or bad thing? I don't know. As a wine in general, definitely a 9. As a Cab Franc, I'd say a 6.

Old world in style, but sturdy notes of leather, clay and clustered mountain mint make this unique. Acidity attacks the palate and leaves you craving for food. Tannins are fine grained and persistent. Cab Franc has moved in...
