Beaujolais meets Cotes-du-Rhone as we see stemmy, woodsy notes, rocks, spice, plump cherry and silky ripe tannins that seems to hide under a layer of viscosity.

1 person found it helpfulDec 23rd, 2015Thymiopoullos Vineyards (Trilofos, Naoussa) earned the wow award (IMHO) in the Greek trade show at 25 Lusk earlier during 2015 for its Xinomavro, and allowing me to meet the winemaker. I won't leave home without it. Passion fruit with a hint of Cardomom, smooth, round, long yet dynamic across the palate, leaves you speechless like a Rubenesque ménage a cinq. Perfect for a romantic encounter, while remaining a fabulous bargain, challenging to share without intentions.

Yum! Nice fruit with a hint astringency. Had it with ouzo, tomato, sausage and feta stew.

Sour cherry and a hint of vinegar smell (not in a bad way, but it's there). Tannic, minerally plum or currant taste at first, but eventually I tasted strawberry notes. Very dry but pretty one dimensional.
