Naoussa Xinomavro

Whoa Nelly that’s a nose! Potent as being nosed out of sleep by my cat in the morning (ps I lied and told him that Xinomavro the grape was named after him, not vice versa). Full of dark red cherry, pepper, herbs (the wine not my cat, he’s just full of Fancy Feast) the palate echos the nose bringing in an amaro-esque element. I want more!

Light bodied, soft fruit, playful acidity. A lovely wine to pair with the regions cuisines and beyond. Pomegranate, tart cherry, earthy viney notes. Cheers!

Definitely the winner of the 2021 Xinomavro challenge. Just perfection for the price.

Surprisingly developed.

Another winner. More polished and slightly less rustic than the 2014.

Gorgeous. Slightly oxidative, but vibrant and complex. Drinking right now like an older Sangiovese.

Earth and fruit. Seems older than it’s years. Delicious.

Lovely dry red. Definitely taste cherry. Slightly sour and medium tannins.

Soft and smooth. Like a warm blanket.

This was a tad too ripe for my palate.
