From 100 year old, own-rooted vines planted in deep sand with almost no organic material. It displays a rich and tangy nose, with musky plum and dark cherry fruit. Nice dry earth note too. Nice melding of fruit and savoriness in the mouth. Dry and full, with decent acids and some soft tannin providing the scaffolding.

Dec 14th, 2017This ungrafted 100 year old vines Carignane is excellent. Nose has smoky dark minerally gravel and ripe black cherry fruit. Carignane can be coarse and angular, but this is deep and richly textured. Nicely tamed tannins. Not super complex, but pure and loaded with character. Will work great with stews and meaty pastas.

Deep cherry and blackberry. Light tannins and little noticeable alcohol. You don't think of carignane as a grape that is a wine in itself. But this is very pleasant and pleasing to drink. Thanks, brother.

Bright red fruits and wild, spicy notes. Fruit, acid and wood a bit incongruent but I think will be more seamless over time.
