Deep dark red. Peppery and heavy on the nose, with a touch of perfume. Appreciable acid, full body, slightly juicy. Red pepper, clear red fruit, blackberry, black currant, nice chalky tannins. Oaky vanilla and cinnamon develop, and they are NICE. Bergamot, prune, black tea, fruit leather, there's a lot of intriguing sexy stuff going on here. Not really smooth, but a fascinating lingering taste, really nice oak, and bright enough for food duty.
