Quick access via Coravin revealed that I probably should have brought this bottle instead. Showing so much better than the last bottle. Definitely mature and oh so perfumed - dried flowers, chocolatey, musky, smoky, earthy, ripe almost-liqueur fruit. Will update again when opened, granted the Coravin serves it's purpose.
Update: Opened and it was singing! Fruit's indeed drying out, but the structure was immense courtesy of the vintage. Yum!

May 10th, 2017More advanced than it should have been I feel, given how fresh the 05' Sirigue was from a couple of weeks ago. Then again, I haven't had this wine previously. Hard to tell. Showing some signs of oxidation too? Such is life with auctions.
Interesting to note that there's still plenty of complexity here, hence the rating. Bricking on the rim. Ripe red fruit, leaning towards the baked ox spectrum, dusty, earthy, integrated oak vanilla, chocolate, spice, mushroom, some barnyard characters. Richer on the nose than palate. Notable minerality and ample acid. Finish persists!
