Good wine/weird wine evening. I don't know anything about this but suspect it's an old high-street bottle, kept 35 years past its prime. Despite the VA and musty, petroly notes (that didn't dissipate) it was interesting to taste. Fruit gone, other than a vague fragrance of stewed lemons; VA evident but not dominant. I suspect it would have been a basic wine a third of a century ago; today it's more interesting, but certainly not better than it was. A very educational evening...
