10, Mascot - Bill Harlan
10 is the third release of the Mascot, Bill Harlan's wine produced with grapes from the younger vines at Harlan Estate, Bond, Promontory. If you’re able to afford these three wines. This would be considered your everyday drinking Cali Cab🙂

90% Cab & the rest is PV & CF
Pulled the cork an hour before we went to dinner. Even better after a further hour of decanting when we arrived.

This bottle is firing on all cylinders. Deep ruby color in the glass. All the black fruit you can squeeze into a bottle, with some earthiness. Additional notes of a syrup/tobacco taste to it, dark chocolate. The tannins & acidity 6/10. The finished lingers for a good 30+ seconds.

Four - five years ago this wasn’t near as approachable as it is today. Enjoy them now or over the next decade. Cheers

Thank you @lawatchguy for bringing this incredible wine. Haven’t had this since visiting the K Laz Wine Collection two years ago and this has improved tremendously since then.

Deep ruby red. Layered nose pulling on some of those vintage characteristics like damp forest floor and tobacco. Some dark berries lingering as well. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Notes of dark cocoa and berries on the attack of the palate followed by some more earthy characteristics and minerality. Long finish with the minerality lingering. Drink till 2030.

The young vines of Harlan make dark cherry/strawberry and dark chocolate heaven.

First of the red wines we tried at K. Laz Wine Collection in Yountville. Deep garnet red with dark core. Light red cherry notes and earthy tones on the nose. Moderate tannins (7.5/10) with great acidity. Solid structure and backbone. Layered palate that started off with some dark cherries, savory notes and a little rustic. Full bodied and very long finish with some light greenery. No decanting and seemed very bordeaux like. Would be very interesting to try in 5 years. Drink till 2036.
