Remarkably Full Bodied Californian Chardonnay

This is a definite crowd pleaser and made that way intentionally. Brought to my place by the same bloke who brought the La Crema - consistent in style. This reminds me of Australian Chardonnay of 25 to 30 years ago. Cheekily referred to as Dolly Parton Chardonnay for obvious reasons. Rich and full bodied with peach and vanilla - buttery and butterscotch. Enough citric acid to stop it becoming blowsy. Reminiscent of Rosemount Roxburgh which was a big hit back in the day.

Clear, medium gold in colour. Clean, medium oak aromas. Dry with medium acidity. Medium body with buttery coupled with light oak flavours. Short finish. Very good quality quaffing wine.

A cheap quaffer but my goodness, it's packed with flavour. Buttery, butterscotch, melon and a touch of honey.

Not at all a bad Chardonnay but could be more complex coming from California. Like it overall!!

Aug 1st, 2016How's the oak. Completely the style of Chardonnay I'm really not enjoying at the moment. I suppose a few points for delivering on their promise but it's a bit overdone for me.
