@Joe Lucca was gracious to set up a virtual tasting for the Wine Nerd Herd with the team from Texture. It was a great evening. The 16 Lucky Well spent over two hours in the decanter-it needed more time. Tightly wound wine that need time to uncoil. Striking texturally with high acid and touches of oak on the finish. I found the almond paste and orchard fruit profiles very pleasing. I taste the attention to detail in this wine.

Oct 12th, 2019Part 1 of the final and main event for the Fall WNH. The most spectacular lineup of wines I’ve ever seen, and an overall wonderful ending to an amazing trip with fantastic people.
Chablis imitator! Goodness. Sharp and tart. Lemon zest, underripe tropical fruits, crushed rock and sea salt. Very impressed with the winemaking here, and I imagine this will be even better in 2-3yrs. Thanks for the intro, @Joe Lucca .

This is my second time with this wine in the last 18 months, the first being back in San Antonio for the WNH event when @Joe Lucca
brought it. Joe was the key component to getting the Texture Wines virtual tasting setup. Wonderful time.
I gave this about a two hour decant and it needed every bit of it. In the glass, I was shocked at how golden and amber it was (Erich addressed this during our tasting and said he likes to get a bit of oxygen to it early on to prevent any type of premox later in its life). Meyer lemon, lemon oil, sea salt, oyster shell and crushed limestone dominate the nose. Even some candied pineapple. Electric on the palate with zero trace of oak accompanied by bright citrus. So much tart but flavorful fruit carried by high acidity. Towards the end of night one, the finish had a note of soft pink cotton candy. On day two, the fruit became more rich and honeyed. This is built like grand cru Chablis and isn’t fading for at least 7-10yrs.

Chablis from Sonoma. The layers appear at different temps and with some air. Bright Granny Smith and Fuji Apple. Fresh squeezed lemon. Crushed and powdered white river stones. White grapefruit. Pine nut. Lemon curd and orange marmalade. Oyster shells. Under ripe tropical fruits. Sea salt. Lightning bolt acidity electrifies your palate and puckers your cheeks. This will go toe to toe with Raveneau or Dauvissat without blinking.

At slightly cooler than cellar temp, this is all Meyer lemon, salt air, oyster shell, under ripe pineapple, and citrus. Bright, clean flavors. As it warms up a bit, beeswax and orange blossom begin to appear. This is a baby and needs a year or two to flesh out more. However it delivers serious pleasure right now! @Erich Bradley delivering the goods again!
