Teutonic Wine Company
Crow Valley Vineyard Gewürztraminer
Brought to a Chinese dinner hoping this wine would crush most things on the table. Very one dimensional and lacking all the goodies & depth of aromatics I love about varietal Gewurtztraminer. Kind of a one man band in the sense that the body was light, (yet fresh) and the wine was just playing off its residual sugar for mouthfeel. Food friendly, but missing its soul. I love this producer, but this wine just didn’t do the trick tonight.

Aug 28th, 2018Purchased at Portland tasting room. Pale white in color. Sulfur, kumquat, spice and grapefruit notes in nose. Off dry, rounded mouthfeel, somewhat tart, slight mouth-coating astringency primarily on front of tongue. Grapefruit, floral and spice notes in mouth. A fun wine to sip, by itself or with food. Could even be aged. Lack of seed bitterness also curious, noteworthy and an intentional winemaking choice

May 17th, 2014A very Teutonic Christmas. 2016 Gewurz with Cheese to start things off. Refreshing light on its feet and not too weighty/oily like some Alsace Gewurz can be. Very tasty
