Fatica Contadina Taurasi Aglianico

Typically way in love with this wine. It was blehhhhhh. Possible bottle variation? Still a Cray Campanian wine fiend.

Peppery. Firey. Roasted. Wish I opened this 10 years from now, but great on day two.

A little young and a bit too woody!

Taurasi DOCG 2008, 13.5%, Aglianico grapes. Great color rich in the mouth.

The nose is floral, leathery, tobacco and a bit of earthiness. Big. Aglianico tannins, but not too much bite. Stewed plums and tobacco notes on the palate.

Probably could have used another couple years to round out the tannins, but very nice and pleasantly earthy. Dark chocolate on the nose, dark fruit, rich tannins, and a long finish.

Very dry and delicious!

Nice smooth. Had it with dinner. Went well with a spicy dish. After dinner I got the real deal. Still a decent wine but heavy tannin on the nose.

Opens up after a bit to a tight tannic kid palate yet a soft finish. Could use a few years laying down.
