A reasonable Barolo but lacks the body and depth of flavour one expects from a really good Barolo. Rich fruity taste with a slight spice - drinkable and enjoyable but better out there.

Dec 30th, 2017A supermarket aged Ā£21 Barolo that's actually ok for the money but isn't anything spectacular but still a decent mid weeker š
š· Garnet cherry w/ light brick edge
š Smokey cherry w/ light oak, pomegranate, red berries, earth & herbs
š Med body of red & dark cherry w/ earthy mocha tones in dry tannins
šÆ Med earthy slight sweet fruity mixed cherry touch dry end
ā

Aug 30th, 2017A wine a little past it's best perhaps. Purchased in Sainsbury's Fine Wine selection this classic Barolo Reserva offers some red currant and black cherry fruit, maybe a little stewed, with some integrated charred wood oak aromas. There are also some tertiary aromas of leather and forest floor but that's all. This is a medium acid, alcohol and body wine, but with medium (+) tannins that are still astringent. Not the best example but maybe this would've had more about it a couple of years back.
