Mar 27th, 2018Inky Black with a deep crimson rim. Noticeable oak on nose and palate (vanilla). Notes of plum and tobacco. Soft silky supple tannins. Probably needed a longer decant. Obviously quality grapes and terroir but over-oaked. Opened another bottle 63 weeks later on March 8 2019 with consistent notes although the ripe fruit seemed to match the liberal use of oak and the oak didnât stand out as much as in the earlier tasting. A strong core with many years to go. Increased by a point to 92.
