(Pt.2....)
Rosé of Blaufrankisch from Finger Lakes? Yes, I will try that. I’ve never seen a wine this colour lavender before. It works.

Blaufränkisch by Nomad’s wine director Thomas Pastuszak and his also sommelier wife Jessica Brown, produced in conjunction with Red Newt Cellars in the Finger Lakes, about five hours from New York City. Grapes sourced from a 30-year-old vineyard planted on gravel, clay and shale, on the East Side of Seneca Lake, an area locals refer to as the “banana belt” due to its comparatively warmer temperatures (also home to Standing Stone vineyards, another of my FLX favorites). Fermented in stainless steel and left on its lees for 3 months. Bright and zesty. Aromas of red fruit, rose petal, watermelon and candy. Easy-drinking and refreshing.

The best Rosé I have had in recent memory. So fruity, and definitely the first Blaufrankisch Rosé I have had. Wish I snagged another bottle (or two).
