Oltrepò Pavese Bonarda

Rich spicy currants with a medium but slightly cane sugary body, incredibly dry but comes with a punch, 2015, I'd be curious what a decade would do to this?

Very nice wine from Lombardy. Black cherries, currants, and pepper with hints of licorice and a little baking spice -- all on the palate. Well-integrated tannins. Give it a little time out of the bottle to open up and reveal some additional layers of complexity.

Medium body. High acid. Lively on the tongue. Poultry spice. Cherry cola. Slightly dusty tannins. Not particularly long finish. Minerally and a bit tart.

Lighter tannin, stronger alcohol, musty. 2006 curious grape tasting.

Predictably more austere and significantly more tannic than its Argentine counterparts. Nice light ruby color, light cherry and gravel aromas, flavors of cherry, red currant and earth with a hint of cardamom. Very pleasant, not complicated or surprising, but dignified for sure. Good with cheese and pasta.
