The 2019 Cabernet Franc is understated yet floral; crushed violets give way to black currants and hints of allspice. Silky textures are contrasted by tart red and blue berries with saline-mineral tones toward the close. A hint of bitter blood orange and a coating of fine tannins linger. $18.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

This is the face of someone who was feeling wary of her wine. Fortunately the “after” would be much better. One sip and I said “it’s alivvvve!” Which it is. There is a zip! on the tongue that makes you almost think there is effervescence except there isn’t. It’s a prickle followed by fresh blackberry soup. Like someone smashed the heck out of these berries. Pulverized to the point they almost cooked but not really. They still zing like fresh off the bush. The level of tannin also feels akin to the astringency of eating a raw berry, seeds and all. I was scared but all is good. This wine is also very good. Just make sure it is actual cellar temp.

A really nice expression of high elevation Cabernet Franc. Oh so herbal on the nose! Flavors of black raspberry and tobacco. Hint of black pepper on the finish. Full bodied and fresh. Beautifully balanced acidity. Great food wine and totally interesting. Thank You, Ron B!

Not too dry, well balanced, slightly fruity (berries), peppery.

Holy rose aromas! Stewed berries, marjoram? Some kinda herb. A little bitter finish. I rank #3 of the flight.
