Greppicaia Bolgheri Superiore

Rich, cassis and black fruit but lean and focussed. Layered with blackberry, black currant and red clay. Iodine notes and fine, long sweet woodsy tannins. Ready to go with short decant.

Greppicaia is the estate's flagship wine made predominantly from Merlot with the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged 18 months in French & American oak barriques. Deep red concentrated aromas of fruit spice & oak. On the palate ripe fruit, plum and sweet cherry with sweet spice and toasty oak. Big round tannins, lingering ending with tobacco and toasty character. Needs more time.

Absolutely lovely Tuscan wine. With more time open, it would've been even better.

This is the first vintage of this wine dark spice with lots of dark coco sundries figs and dark plum black licorice very complex bouquet. Starting to mellow out a bit but still youthful and has tannins to resolve well balanced with lots of everything. Finish 50+ most excellent

Lots of dark spice coco licorice and dark cherry fruit dark earth dried figs very intense. Big and chewy with-layers of fruit earth and dark spices. Dense and rich but very well balanced and a long finish 50+ most excellent

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with small barrel woody aromas. Low aromatics but comfortable on palate.

It's super. It's Tuscan . It's Greppicaia. Full bodied and lush. Paired nicely at Tuscany with Filet Vermicelli. #greppicaia

This wine never disappoints me. Needs to open up in your glass a bit but is just a fantastic wine with a meal or on its own.
