Tenuta di Valgiano
Palistorti di Valgiano Vermentino Blend
Deep orange gold. Orange peel, earthy, floral and lactic “cheesy” aroma. Textured and long, with delicate tannins on the finish.

Feb 28th, 2024The 2021 Palistorti di Valgiano is a very beautiful, complex wine, especially at this level. Sweet pipe tobacco, rose petal, mocha, licorice and earthy notes lend considerable aromatic presence. Silky tannins wrap it all together, while bright acids lift the finish. This is one of the best editions of Valgiano's second wine I can remember tasting. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2023)

Unctuous. When down way too quick. We really dug this wine. Has some oak but worked out well.

Jun 4th, 2018Winery is near Lucca. Crazy former backwaters of wine production. Vermentino. BioD. Sea salt, fennel seed, yellow apple. Second day. Crunchy acid, med-acid. 2011 is drinking beautifully. Wishing I had swordfish crudo on hand.

Mar 24th, 2017A smoothly balanced white wine, this Vermentino dominant blend did not impress as hoped. It was too restrained on nose and palate to create a good experience. Perhaps, other vintages show better than the 2011. It might pair with a mild fish, however.
