Super Tuscan with mostly Merlot and Cab Franc. Dark cherry aroma and on the palate with a hint of walnut. Long finish.

Here is a nice Tuscan red, Bordeaux style, for this Friday.

Beautiful ruby in color with a wide purple rim.

Big and ripe nose of blackberries, blueberries, violets, plums, cherries, oak, vanilla, alcohol, light vegetables, licorice, smoke, earth, spices and black pepper.

Full bodied, smooth and bold, with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, cherries, plums, strawberries, oak, licorice, mint, earth, vegetables, dirt, peppercorn, vanilla and tobacco.

Long finish with Hugh tannins (not for the first 30 minutes) and black pepper.

This big, 5 year old, Tuscan is still young but already very enjoyable with complex food or even by itself (if you can tolerate the big tannins). Nice and balanced otherwise.

A blend of 76% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Sangiovese and 2% Petite Verdot.

Needs 3 more years in the bottle to blossom. This really changed in the decanter over a couple of hours.

15% alcohol by volume.

Big, dark and a little jammy for old world Merlot. Also nice spice leading to a pleasant, medium-length finish.

Took a little bit to open up. Very maple like character upon the initial pour. Then the earth and mushroom Italian like character emerged. Charming.

Delicious red wine. Lightly peppery, light legs, full taste.
Definitely will drink again.
Really good aerated or decanted.

Earthy, herbal notes give way to a dry, smooth finish. Great Super Tuscan blend!

Tasty wine, surprising tannins, got great complexity at the price point. I'd give it another couple of years to round out in the bottle.
