Oh #Italy I love you. From Elba comes the 2012 Tenuta Ripalte Rosso with a nose of spice, cinnamon, and raspberries. A bit lean, but still has a pleasant taste of cherries with some tartness in there. It has a really nice, smooth finish that's longer than I expected. I would pair this one with quality Chinese food or maybe even some Cajun dishes.

Burgundy magenta color, smell of prosciutto, cinnamon, clove, firm tannin with good acidity, rounded with taste of black tea, anise, olive and licorice, finished with a vegetable aftertaste, a very different wine from the Toscana norm, very enjoyable.
