Sipping Fine Wine

Located in the heart of the production area of the Aglianico del Vulture, founded in 1990 by the D’Angelo family. Aged for 24 months in oak, aromas of berry fruits with notes of spice and earthy scents. On the palate flavors of dark berry fruit, pepper, tobacco and earthy spice. Fine tannins, medium finish ending with a tobacco mineral earthy character.

Dark red purple: color to the rim and near black core. Inviting nose of blueberry cobbler in a new wooden bowl. Firm tannins lead the full-bodied palate which echoes the nose adding a dark graphite-like mineral note and a bit of tarry bitterness. Medium plus acidity balances it all to yield an excellent, rustic wine for heartier fare, especially Mediterranean. Drink now through 2028.

Seductive and sultry. This wine has an aroma like a scented candle. The inky rich volcanic character is unlike any any other grape or region. Fantastic.

A funky, earthy red. Expected more depth, but well made. Bottle #1 at Scott's (ribeyes and branzino...)
