Dark red purple: color to the rim and near black core. Inviting nose of blueberry cobbler in a new wooden bowl. Firm tannins lead the full-bodied palate which echoes the nose adding a dark graphite-like mineral note and a bit of tarry bitterness. Medium plus acidity balances it all to yield an excellent, rustic wine for heartier fare, especially Mediterranean. Drink now through 2028.

Seductive and sultry. This wine has an aroma like a scented candle. The inky rich volcanic character is unlike any any other grape or region. Fantastic.

Still needs major decant time. Upon opening closed, tight and acidic after decanting opens up to a earthy red with some flower notes with the soil coming thorough and muted red berries.

Tart fruit, cranberries, an earthiness, and dusky scent. Nicely structured. E guessed it was a Barolo so that’s high praise.
