Tenuta Angoris
Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Schioppettino
Love the comments on this wine about "dirt and cherries," @Jaime Godinez or "half Beaujolais and half Syrah," @Scott Barber, really true, Schioppettino is an interesting contrast of grapey fruit vs peppery foresty mineral characters. This is a great rendition of this rare varietal.

Mar 22nd, 2014Reminds me of a Mondeuse. Lots of tart red fruit with a lot of spice. Pinot meets St. Jospeh. Complex with a long finish. Really enjoyed it.

Aug 12th, 2016Another obscure yet great Italian red grape from the cool climate Veneto region. Very juicy upfront, medium bodied on the mid palate, dry and earthy finish. A really surprising red fruit/earth combination that I really enjoyed.
