May 29th, 2024Tassi Brunello di Montalcino 2019.
This may be the entry level Tassi Brunello but it is from a fantastic vintage and is delightful. Fabio’s family and team (although the team seems like family from the couple times I’ve met them) have created a wine that has a burst of aroma on opening - it’s initially a tad tight on the palate but the tannins soften within an hour. Then the medium-bodied earthy raspberry and strawberry with some cinnamon flavors begin to shine with lots of layers. While it may not be as rich and full bodied as the more premium Tassi selections, I find it an excellent value for the flavor and experience.
